I hope everyone is safe from all the storms recently. Here is a post from Rainee on some of our members who were hit. We are thankful they are safe and everyone is ok.
Lyn Francik got hit by the storm Monday night and got about 1/2 of the roof off of her house, lost a bunch of tin off of the barn. The outdoor arena railroad ties were all in the fencing around the property that is not fenced anymore. Lyn has been very fortunate to have many volunteers (many people that she doesn't even know) help her to pick up debris. At this time she can only let her horses out in the indoor arena which I believe has some of the roof off. She and the horses and all other creatures that she have are fine, Thank God. Her north door on the indoor is completely missing and has not been found and neither has one of her horse trailers. They found one of the doors to that horse trailer but not the trailer. Lyn is fairing ok and is thankful for her friends and especially those volunteers who don't even know her and have showed up to help clean up the mess.
Vicki Sharp has lots of debris mostly branches and such down on her property since she lives in Tecumseh and was only about a mile or so from where the people were killed. Vicki, who lives by herself, has been picking up and hauling of tree branches by herself since her husband passed away a while back. I have offered to go down this weekend but by then she is thinking she may have it all cleaned up and most of her fences fixed.
Peggy Sue Blair had damage about like Vicki Sharps. Peggy called to see how we were up in the northern part of the state and I was calling down there to ask how all of them were. But Peggy is doing ok also.
It would be nice if we, as a group ODS, did at least put something on the website so that people that have a little bit of spare time could go over and help these ladies. I live too far away, but probably will be down to help Lyn and or Vicki this weekend. Please consider putting something on the website and letting people know.
If you know of anyone else who's property was damaged let's put them on the website also. It will give some of us an opportunity to call or go by and see if they can use our help. That is what friends are for after all isn't it?
